bioRxiv
bioRxiv (pronounced “bio-archive”) is a free online archive and distribution service for unpublished preprints in the life sciences. It is operated by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a not-for-profit research and educational institution. By posting preprints on bioRxiv, authors are able to make their findings immediately available to the scientific community and receive feedback on draft manuscripts before they are submitted to journals.

BMJ Learning offers high-quality continuing medical education for doctors and other healthcare professionals. It features hundreds of accredited, peer reviewed learning modules in text, video, and audio formats.

CINAHL
CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) is the source of information for professionals in the field of nursing and allied health care.

CINAHL contains references to articles from almost all English-language nursing journals and a number of journals from related fields, such as physiotherapy and speech therapy. Users have quick and easy access to renowned full-text journals, evidence-based care sheets, quick lessons and more.

Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library is a collection of reviews, a database of systematic reviews and meta-analyses that summarize and interpret the results of medical research. The Cochrane Library aims to make the results of well-conducted controlled trials readily available and is an important resource in evidence-based medicine.

Embase 
For references from biomedical and medical literature, more than Medline focused on European and pharmacological sources and with additional search terms for e.g. drugs. Over 25 million records recorded. Clicking through to full text is possible if available for Erasmus MC. See also: Courses.

Farmacotherapeutisch Kompas (Dutch only)
The Farmacotherapeutisch Kompas lists all medicines available in the Netherlands that are registered as ‘medicines for humans’ with the Medicines Evaluation Board or the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and are listed in the Z-Index, which is updated every month.

InCites Journal Citation Reports (JCR)
InCites Journal Citation Reports is a database published annually by Thomson Reuters (formerly ISI) to provide citation and publication data (such as Impact Factors) from academic journals.

Invert (Dutch only)
For references in nursing and related fields. Invert refers to articles from Dutch-language magazines.

medRxiv
medRxiv (pronounced “med-archive”) is a free online archive and distribution server for complete but unpublished manuscripts (preprints) in the medical, clinical, and related health sciences. Preprints are preliminary reports of work that have not been certified by peer review. They should not be relied on to guide clinical practice or health-related behavior and should not be reported in news media as established information.

PubChem
Pubchem is an open chemistry database at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). “Open” means that you can put your scientific data in PubChem and that others may use it. Since the launch in 2004, PubChem has become a key chemical information resource for scientists, students, and the general public. Each month our website and programmatic services provide data to several million users worldwide.

PubChem mostly contains small molecules, but also larger molecules such as nucleotides, carbohydrates, lipids, peptides, and chemically-modified macromolecules. We collect information on chemical structures, identifiers, chemical and physical properties, biological activities, patents, health, safety, toxicity data, and many others.

Trip
Trip medical database, a smart, fast tool to find high quality clinical research evidence.

UpToDate
Evidence-based clinical resource. It includes a collection of medical and patient information, access to Lexi-comp drug monographs and drug-to-drug interactions, and a number of medical calculators. UpToDate is written by over 7,100 physician authors, editors, and peer reviewers.

Web-of-Science
For references from all scientific fields. Also offers citation analysis.
